When it comes to cracking the mystery that is SEO, knowing how to do keyword research is the absolute key skill to have. It may not be the be-all and end-all, but having a particular word or phrase that will be the foundation of your content is the best place to start with SEO.
‘But how do I know what keywords to target?’ I hear you yell, well, I’m here to take away the mystery and show you the easiest and quickest way to start building a super handy keyword list for your content. This keyword list can not only be referred back to to when you’re creating new content, but it can also help you decide what major keywords you might want your whole blog, website or YouTube channel to be found for when users are having a cheeky Google.
Are people searching for your keyword?
In my easy to follow video tutorial, I take you through all the tools you can use to find out how many times a keyword is searched for every month. Why does that matter? Well, by optimising your content for a keyword that thousands of people search for every month, you’ll massively increase the traffic and views on your content.
All of the tools I show you are completely FREE and tell you how many people search for your specified keywords every single month. By making a note of these search volumes, you’ll be able to determine which keywords are worth targeting when creating your content.
Creating your keyword research list
When it comes to creating your very own keyword research list, it couldn’t be simpler!
All I do is open up Google Sheets and copy and paste my findings from the keyword research tools. I then had a spreadsheet that I can refer back to, time and time again, to find out which keywords I should target with my next piece of creative content. I love to use Google Sheets because it saves automatically and is super easy to load up at the last minute. As I’m going about my regular internet business, I can open a new tab and throw in whatever new keywords or phrases that I think would be good to target with my own stuff!
Why should you do keyword research
When you’re busy trying to run your own business, adding yet another thing to your list of admin tasks may seem like the last thing on your mind.
